Main Bathroom Remodel

The old cabinet, counter, sink and mirror. We’d actually already replaced the light fixture simply because the old one was too hideous to deal with. It’s hard to tell in this photo, but the cabinet was actually made from pressboard with a paper veneer designed to look like dark woodgrain. *shudder*
The tub surround was made from formica and wasn’t awful, but wasn’t exactly nice either.
The wallpaper wasn’t actually too bad and there was even a matching shower curtain. I’m pretty sure it was probably top of the line when it was installed back in the 1980s… however, even if I didn’t mind it so much, it definitely had to go.
And here’s the old overhead light and fan… it was actually a heat lamp and while I will miss it on those cold winter days, it was pretty hideously ugly and was starting to rust.
And deconstruction begins in earnest!

Dry-fitting tile to get an idea how it will look.
Laying the tile.
It’s all down!
And now it’s even grouted.
Tub Surround
Our biggest splurge on these projects was buying Wedi Board for the tub and shower surrounds. Lightweight, easy to install and absolutely watertight!
Checking the fit on the corner shelf.
Placing the last of the main tiles.
Grouted!
Placing the shelf and soapdish.
