This is actually shot from the bottom of the stairs back up... simply because I liked it.
At the bottom of the stairs, there's a nice sort of "hallway" with linoleum that we'll be replacing with a nicer flooring. There's a door into the garage (which we'll also be replacing, since it currently has a pet door in it) and a storage closet under the stairs.
And on the other side of the storage closet is a nice little area they're currently using as an office.
And then there's the media room. It's got a huge motorized screen and a fantastic projector. We'll be having to get our own speakers (but I'm not unhappy about that, since the speakers in there now are HUGE). Even though I love the paint job in here, our plans are to line the walls with bookcases... this will eventually be the new Library, with added media room content! I should add that the door you see on the far end of the room leads into the kitchen/living area for the Mother-in-Law apartment... and there's another door to the left of the photo that leads to the bathroom for the MiL apartment.
